GDL Director Evan Lieberman, along with Faculty Associate Fotini Christia, just completed the first semester of their new undergraduate course, “Critical Perspectives on Data and Identity.” The class examines how group identities are recorded as “data” in various domains, and the effects of data collection on the formation of identities, inequality, redistribution and conflict around the world.
